The Barton Grange Group
The Barton Grange Group of companies dates back to 1945 when Mr & Mrs Edward and Ada Topping purchased a small manor house in Barton with plans to turn it into a hotel.
Now, over 70 years later, the Group comprises not only a luxury hotel and conference centre, but a national award-winning garden centre at Brock, a hugely successful Landscaping business, and three large plant nurseries selling plants throughout the UK.
The Barton Grange Hotel opened in 1951 as a six-bedroom establishment on the A6 in Barton, Preston, and is now a luxury 4* hotel, comprising of over 50 bedrooms, complete with a conference centre, leisure facilities and The Walled Garden Restaurant.
Barton Grange Landscapes was created in 1957 by Eddie Topping, Edward and Ada’s son, and is now run by Eddie’s son, Peter. Covering the north west of England, Barton Grange Landscapes remain one of the most respected and professional landscaping contractors in the north west of England.
The new Barton Grange Garden Centre at Brock was opened in March 2008, and is run by another of Eddie’s sons, Guy. The stunning establishment sits alongside a marina and has many special features and attractions that make it a must-see visitor attraction!
It has won major awards, such as Garden Centre of the Year, and regularly wins awards for the stunning Christmas displays created year after year.
Furthermore, the centre will soon have an amazing new addition with the construction of The Flower Bowl, which is due to commence in 2016, featuring a curling rink, restaurant, ten pin bowling, multi-screen cinema, fish & chip restaurant, ice cream parlour, coffee shop and two crazy golf courses. The Flower Bowl will be created as one single-storey building, complete with a grass roof.
The Barton Grange Group Ltd currently employs around 500 people on full-time, part-time, seasonal, or temporary basis with an annual turnover in excess of £23 million.
