Design Process
1. Free Visit
A no obligation, initial visit is made to discuss your requirements and view the garden in order to determine a design fee. Also included in this visit is a presentation of the designer’s portfolio. The preliminary visit usually takes about an hour.
2. Design Fee.
The design fee is based on a number of factors that are assessed on the initial visit. The design fee is quoted in writing, and this will be sent to you with an acceptance form after the initial visit. The design fee is separated into the 3 areas that make up the design process –
THE DESIGN PROCESS -
1. SURVEY: a detailed site survey is carried out so that a scaled site plan can be produced. For larger or more complex sites the services of a surveyor may be sought. At this stage the client is asked for their BRIEF.
THE BRIEF: This can be as simple as a chat or if you have a lot of ideas it is advisable to provide a list, photos or whatever it takes to tell your story!
2. SKETCH DESIGN: draft ideas are presented to you along with cost implications of carrying out the proposed ideas. Due to the diversity of schemes this may be one visit or several. The draft ideas are firmed up into the final plan for your approval prior to the scheme being finalised.
3. FINAL PLAN: copies of the final plan along with a cost estimate to construct the garden are sent to you with the design invoice. An acceptance form for the work accompanies the plan, which needs to be signed and returned for the work to be programmed into our work schedule.
PLANTING PLANS, construction details, schedule of works etc. can be supplied if required and will be quoted for separately.
